Berman Salt
Berman Salt, created in association with Starshine, is a new category of flat glass surfacing for interior and exterior architecture and design. It is an innovative granulate material made from new or recycled glass cullet, colored with pigments, then fused to sheets of flat glass. The resulting dyed glass panels offer architects and designers a new form of expression in glass for designed environments.
Available in four different grain sizes and 32 intermixable colors, Salt works well as exterior cladding for building walls. For interior design, Salt’s application possibilities are limited only by the imagination.
Environmental: Salt’s granulate can be made from 100% recycled glass. This, coupled with significantly lower production energy compared with other techniques required for melting glass makes Salt a good candidate for LEED points in projects.
Because Salt is a colored granulate, colors can be mixed, and shapes can be arranged prior to firing for custom designs. Scripts and logos can be either placed in raised forms or integrated within a single plane.
